I have another “live” post for the week, and this time it’s an outfit of the day.
This is the outfit I wore to work today. If you recall, one of my style resolutions is to put a little more effort into how I dress at work. Don’t get me wrong, I dress appropriately…I just rely a little too much on flats. Working in an office, why not wear heels? This week, I made some progress with that resolution by wearing heels 3 of the 4 work days. I’ve had this nude sleeveless blouse for a long time now, but it still feels new. I purchased it from Nordstrom because I knew it would become a staple piece for my work outfits. I initially paired the blouse with a black blazer, but the weather made me want to go a little brighter. I switched it out for a pinky nude blazer from Forever 21, which was a spring purchase that I hadn’t had a chance to wear. Although I wanted to wear a lighter denim with this look, I think the Steve Madden ‘Stepout’ heels help bring the look together.
As per usual, I tied my hair back and kept makeup to a minimum. I wanted to wear my hair down, but I don’t like the crowded feeling of having hair around your neck when wearing a blazer. Am I the only one who feels like there’s too much friction going on when that happens? It’s one of the reasons I want to cut my hair even shorter than I just recently did. My nails aren’t pictured, but I do want to mention that today is day 5 of wearing the same nail polish combination featured from Wednesday’s post. This is groundbreaking for me! Normally, my nail polish will hold up for 2-3 days max. Be sure to read Wednesday’s post to see what the secret is.
As for accessories, I’m wearing my favorite sunglasses yet again. I just can’t stop wearing the gold Vivienne frames from Quay Australia. (Read my review here!) For the jewelry, I’m wearing dainty hoop earrings from Target, a Kendra Scott tassel necklace, and an older Urban Outfitters ring.
Have a great weekend everyone!
