Hi, I'm Chelsey

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a safe New Year’s Eve! Does anyone remember Season 1 of The Hills when Lauren mentioned that she never has a good New Years Eve? That is me every time I go out for the occasion. This year, I stayed in and wrote down all my resolutions to post in my room. After that, I stumbled upon this yearly jar idea on Tumblr and decided to give it a try.

“Start on January 1st with an empty jar. Throughout the year write the good things that happened to you on little pieces of paper. On December 31st, open the jar and read all the amazing things that happened to you that year.”

The idea behind this is to remember all the good things that happen to you in the coming year. We all want to be happy, and we all have days that bring us down. It’s important not to let the bad outweigh the good, so what better way to focus on the positive than allow a way to reflect on the good times?

All you need for this simple DIY is an empty container and any decorative things you want to use to give your jar some flair. I didn’t have an empty jar like the one pictured, so I used a vase instead. It’s day one of 2013, I stayed home from work because I’m sick, it feels like it’s getting worse instead of better, but I still have something positive to put in the vase. There’s always a silver lining!

Have you posted your resolutions? Are you going to create a positive jar?
