Hi, I'm Chelsey

What I’m Wearing: Zara top (similar) | Topshop shorts | Sam Edelman shoes | Quay sunglasses

Long time no see! If you weren’t aware, I took an extended break (aka the month of June) off for a few reasons:

  1. I wanted to update the site and get some behind the scenes tasks completed without having to split my time with creating content.
  2. A lot was happening in June! Several birthdays (including mine!), Father’s Day, and an overall busy social month.
  3. I wanted to come back to you guys with a giveaway! [NOW CLOSED]

So here we are, at the beginning of July and I’m back with an outfit post, a giveaway, and a new site layout. Where should we start?

The Outfit

I may or may not have a slight obsession with off the shoulder tops this season. We’ve already hit triple digits here in Texas, and the summer is just beginning. If I’m not wearing a day dress on the weekends, chances are I’ll be in an off the shoulder top. Not only are these tops on trend, but they’re a flattering cut for everyone to wear.

I featured a white top from Forever 21 previously on the blog, and I have since picked up a few additions. The top featured today is a spicy red-orange one from Zara, and it’s slightly cropped with an elastic hem. While I’m not one for bright colors, I find this shade to complement my skin tone very well in the summertime. I paired the top with high-waisted denim shorts from Topshop, the longest pair I own.

If I’m wearing a cropped top, I don’t want to worry about the back of my shorts riding up and revealing too much. I have had these shorts for a few months now and my only gripe is the wear and tear of the rips. With each wash, they become a little more unhinged so I may have to retire them after this summer.

The shoes are a summer staple for me, whether they’re considered to be on trend or not. The Sam Edelman gladiators are an older item purchased last summer, but I still love them because they blend so well with most of my summer looks.

[CLOSED] The Giveaway

If you’re already on the e-mail list, you’re automatically entered! There are a few ways to gain up to 5 additional entries, so check the latest e-mail I sent this morning if you haven’t already.

I’m really excited about this giveaway for two reasons:

  1. It’s made up of beauty products I am absolutely loving so far in 2017.
  2. I haven’t had a giveaway in forever, this is long overdue!

I don’t want to get too long winded in this post, so I’ll cover more on the giveaway in Friday’s post. For now, check out my Instagram to see what goodies are included! And yes, this is open internationally!

The Site Layout

Last but certainly not least, I updated the look of the site! If you’re a longtime reader, you may notice that I change the look pretty regularly. I don’t necessarily have any set timeframe, but I like to switch things up every now and then. Let me know what you think of the new layout!

Alright, I think that covers everything. See what happens when we don’t connect for a month? I get so long winded! See you on Friday!
