Hi, I'm Chelsey

We’re 6 days into January, how are your resolutions holding up? I’m slowly cracking into mine, and I’m feeling pretty confident about it this year after last year’s success. My style and beauty resolution for 2016 is actually just one:

Simplify, edit, and minimize the amount of material items I own.

There are a few things I love to have a collection of–candles, nail polish, lipstick–but for the most part, having too much “stuff” in my home feels chaotic. I’ve slowly started the process of reducing the amount of beauty stuff I have with last year’s resolution of getting rid of an old item when I purchase something new.

Resolutions-1-2

This year, I want to focus more on evaluating what I have and ditching what rarely gets used. I’ve condensed my makeup collection down to a reasonable size, but there’s still room for improvement. My hope is that by the end of this year I’ll:

  • Have a small makeup collection consisting of only items I regularly use
  • Have a wardrobe primarily of versatile basics, with a few trendy pieces thrown in
  • Expand the idea of simplicity into home decor items

What are your resolutions for 2016?
