Hi, I'm Chelsey

sephora-at-the-domain-haul-3

My friends and I spent this past weekend in Austin to see The Lumineers perform and attend Day 2 of ACL Music Festival, but we also had a free day to shop. We actually stumbled across 3 different grand openings, one of which was Sephora. I’m still low key trying to minimize the amount of things I own so while I didn’t go crazy, I did pick up a few items from my mental shopping list.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

ABH’s Modern Renaissance palette is the purchase I’m most excited about because I didn’t think it was available for purchase anymore. The colors within the palette all have a beautiful warm undertone. I’ve worn a few of the shades so far this week and I don’t have any complaints with the color selection or the smooth formula. The one thing I don’t like about the palette is the packaging. The Modern Renaissance palette has a velvety packaging similar to the original Urban Decay Naked palette so it’s prone to dirt and smudges.

Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

Right now, I’m in between mascaras. Lancome Grandiose and Dior’s Diorshow mascara are my two favorite mascaras, but I’m looking for something new to try out of curiosity. In a recent Sephora VIB Rouge sample bag, I received a mini version of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara and wasn’t impressed. It seemed to add more separation than volume or length so that mascara didn’t suit my needs. Flash forward to this past weekend at the opening of a new Sephora, and I received yet another mini mascara. This time, I received a sample of Lancome’s Hypnose Drama mascara. I’ve used it a few days so far and while I still like Grandiose better, I plan to keep using Hypnose Drama until it needs to be replaced.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Mad Max Brown

Because my friends and I attended the grand opening of a new Sephora, VIB Rouge members received a tote bag with samples included for every purchase made. A mini version of Kat Von D’s tattoo liner was included in my sample bag in the shade Mad Max Brown. I’m actually happy the Kat Von D liner was included in my sample bag because I wouldn’t have tested it out otherwise. I’m not a fan of felt tip eyeliner pens, but I do want to test the staying power of this brand.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Kristen

ABH makes one of my favorite lip gloss formulas, but I only have the shade Sepia. During this shopping trip, I purchased the shade Kristen. It’s described as a cool desert sand, although it leans more on the pink side.

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil in Shade 5

Benefit isn’t a brand I usually gravitate towards, mainly because I feel like they don’t offer a lot of products geared towards deeper skin tones and the packaging doesn’t appeal to my aesthetic, but I applaud this product. My friend actually introduced Precisely My Brow Pencil to me over the weekend and let me keep it after loving the results. Everyone knows how well the ABH Brow Wiz works, but sometimes you just get bored with products after repurchasing several times and want to try something new. Precisely My Brow Pencil has a fluffier spoolie so it’s the perfect pencil for creating a natural brow.

NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder

I’m equal parts skeptical and excited about the NARS light reflecting setting powder. I’ve needed a translucent setting powder for months now and almost settled for the popular Laura Mercier option until I noticed this NARS powder. Since both the concealer and tinted moisturizer I use are by NARS, I’m hoping to see good results with their setting powder.
