Monday already! Did the weekend fly by for anyone else? Maybe it was the kickoff to the new month but for some reason, I was in a total productive mode the entire weekend. Actually, as I typed that I realized it was probably a direct result of going on the 5-day juice cleanse.
Even though it was a great way to reset my healthy eating and think about whether or not I want to continue the completely vegetarian diet in 2018 (it’s been over 2 years!), I am so glad to be eating grains again. Now, let’s dive into today’s outfit.
Red Flannel + Frayed Denim | OOTD
If you watched yesterday’s video, the red flannel may look familiar. I featured it in my monthly favorites and hinted at it being posted to the blog today. Really, flannel of all shades is a monthly favorite. I previously shared how I styled the go-to blue plaid with a graphic tee, so today’s look switches it up by adding a solid grey shirt instead.
It was absolutely freezing outside when I wore this look, hence the many layers. A leather jacket may be a closet staple, but sometimes it just isn’t thick enough to withstand the cold breeze. I added the red flannel for extra warmth and ended up liking the look of it tied around my waist. The grey top with red boots and denim still look perfectly fine without the flannel, I just like the cohesiveness brought on by the extra layer.
I have yet to shop for any spring clothes, but Zara will definitely be my first stop. The jeans featured in the look are from Zara and even though I bought them last spring, they are still one of my favorite pairs to wear on the weekend. I particularly like them with my Steve Madden red boots because they are wide enough to fit over the boot shaft. Despite wearing such a statement boot, sometimes I don’t want them to be the main focus of the outfit–that’s when these jeans come in handy.
