Hi, I'm Chelsey

the-black-keys-outfit

Been there, done that, got a t-shirt.

You know how some people love to go to clubs and it becomes like their “thing” to do? In recent years, I’ve discovered that going to shows is my thing. I just really enjoy hearing music live, especially smaller shows. The Black Keys was definitely not a small show as it was their Turn Blue world tour, but you know what I mean. In general, I prefer smaller venues. (They were amazing live so definitely attend one of their concerts if you ever get the chance.)

The Fashion

At the concert, I of course had to get a t-shirt. Actually, I bought two. I love band tees for two reasons:

  1. The comfort
  2. The memories

I wore this shirt yesterday for a casual Sunday look and rolled the sleeves at the ends since they’re a tad long. I’ve needed new jeans for the past 6 months (at least) and still haven’t bought any, so I just threw on old jeans from Hollister. I don’t know what it is about blue jeans, but it takes a long time for me to purchase a new pair. Part of me just wants to wear black pants all the time, which is kind of why I’ve been stalling. Another part knows whatever I buy will need to last a long time so I don’t have to go through this again. Speaking of needing to buy things, I’m so bummed that my plimsoll sneakers from Urban Outfitters are finally starting to wear at the soles. I’m that person who wears shoes until they quite literally fall apart. When they eventually give in completely, I’ll either repurchase them or opt for the low-top all white Converse. I also had to wear my very old leather jacket because the lowest temperature was 25 degrees, which is extremely cold for Texas. I’m not going to complain, though, I love, love, love, cold weather with clear skies.

The Beauty

The beauty side of this look is kept pretty simple, for obvious reasons. Who wants to get all dolled up with such a casual outfit? I pulled my hair back into my safety net of a ponytail. Honestly, my New Year’s resolution should have been to stop wearing my hair in a ponytail. I wish you guys could see just how often my hair is pulled back. It’s so convenient and keeps hair out of my face, but I know I should make a bit more of an effort when it comes to my hair. Once upon a time, I did. I’ll get there, okay? The sunglasses are the Marc Jacobs ones that I bought a few months back. On my lips is a very light layer of NYX’s Butter Lipstick in Pops, and I painted my nails with OPI’s ‘You Don’t Know Jacques‘ nail varnish.

The Details

What do you consider to be your “thing”? Is it going to shows like me, or something else?
