If you visited the blog last year, you may remember my liquid lip series. I rounded up all of the liquid lipsticks I owned and published blog posts on each brand including a mini review and swatches of all the products. My liquid lipstick collection has since expanded and now includes products from additional brands, including Jouer Cosmetics. The brand was on my radar as one to test out, so I was thrilled when they reached out and generously sent over their lip cremes and lip toppers.

After testing, swatching, and wearing the products for the past month, I wanted to share my thoughts with you all. Much like the other liquid lipstick posts, this is going to be very picture heavy so I’m keeping the text short and to the point. Hope you enjoy! 

Jouer Cosmetics Lip Creme Formula

• Thin formula
• Comfortable to wear
• Minimal dryness
• Lightweight
• Long-Wearing (5-6 hrs)

Based purely on the packaging, I initially thought the Jouer lip cremes would have a thick, mousse-like consistency. The formula is actually very thin and can be easily manipulated and spread around when wet, which I like. Once it dries, the lip creme remains in place without overly drying out your lips. In fact, this is one of the few liquid lip brands that wear comfortably on the lips without a primer or chapstick underneath.

Jouer Lip Topper Swatches

The Lip Toppers come in 3 shades, all of which are swatched below. Running at $16 each, Jouer’s Long-Wear Lip Toppers are made with coconut oil and used to refresh and add shimmer to any lip color. While they can be worn on top of a Jouer Lip Creme, I opted to wear them alone for the purposes of the swatches.

The lip toppers are more of a lip gloss, so they moisturize and add a bit shine instead of drying to a matte finish. With the topper, expect the wear time of the lip cremes to decrease. The three shades are Frostbite, Skinny Dip, and my personal favorite, Tan Lines.

Jouer Lip Creme Swatches

As for the Lip Cremes, they run for $18 each and come in both matte and metallic finishes. The matte finish is my personal favorite because the formula dries quickly but is easy to manipulate when wet. The metallic shades are harder to work with when they’re wet, so it can be a challenge to get the product to lay just right.

Naturally, the red shades are my favorite overall because I love a good red lip. The nude shades are ideal for light to medium skin tones, but a dark lipliner or base color can easily manipulate the shades to adjust for deeper skin tones. To get the true color of each lip creme, the swatches below do not have any added products–no lipliners or base colors, just the lip creme.

Which shades are your favorites?

Brique is my number one pick because it’s the ideal warm brick red shade I look for in a lipstick. To get you started on a mini collection, I recommend picking up one from each category. My picks are Brique from the matte reds, Creme Brulee from the matte nudes, Cassis from the matte pinks, and Bronze Rose from the metallics.
