What I’m Wearing: Forever 21 top | Zara jeans | Steve Madden shoes | Quay Australia sunglasses
Happy Monday! I shared a preview of my Spring clothing rack on Snapchat last week, and this outfit features two of the items: frayed denim and an off-the-shoulder top. To my core, I am a t-shirt and jeans girl when I want to feel comfortable. The thing is, sometimes my t-shirts are more casual than my mood for the day. That’s where this top comes in handy. It’s a bit of a trendy piece so I didn’t want to necessarily “invest” in an item that I may or may not wear for multiple seasons. I had this kind of top on my spring shopping list and was so excited to find one this cute with a great price tag.
My friend and I actually went to the NYX store opening that Katy (LustreLux) was at after shooting this outfit, and I received quite a few compliments on the top. There are a ton of off-the-shoulder tops out there, so my recommendation to you is to try them on! Strapless tops can look cute on a hanger but fall in the wrong way when worn, so definitely make sure your top fits appropriately before purchasing.
I styled the blouse with another spring trend–frayed denim. The jeans are from Zara, and they’re so different from any pair I’ve previously owned because of the destroyed hemline. This is another trend that you have to try on before purchasing. I grabbed a few pairs but ended up selecting this style because the lighter wash looked better with a frayed hem than the darker wash did on me. They’re a bit edgy and funky, yet still pair beautifully with a flirty top. To balance out the two items, I wore a pair of Steve Madden heeled sandals that were already in my closet from previous seasons.
So cute, love this outfit. I love a good t-shirt and jean look, but this is a super cute and chic outfit!
Thank you! It’s definitely a “dressier” version of the classic combination!
