I just can’t seem to get out of my fashion slump. Truth be told, my plate is pretty full right now so my mind is busy taking on additional interests as well as dealing with outside stress. Shopping tends to be my outlet of choice, but I just haven’t found very many clothing items I like this season. Where are all the eye-catching trends? The pretty dresses? The festival wear? I’m hoping the stores haven’t had their spring floorset yet and the best is yet to come. I took 2 oversized laundry bags worth of clothes to Plato’s Closet a few weekends ago as a result of organizing my closet, so my wardrobe is looking pretty sparse.
The one new top I purchased recently is this blouse from H&M. I think the small pops of color caught my eye, despite the fact that those pops of color are actually little bugs. The blouse reminds me of Spring, and I love how the length has a perfect ending. As cute as the top is, I kept the rest of the outfit simple because of the weather. I wanted to wear nude heels, but rain made me quickly switch into safe flats.
For the makeup, I had to wear a bright lip. Without a pop of color in the makeup or a dramatic wing, the blouse loses its brightness. I have on NYX’s Matte lipstick in “Indie Flick”, which is in between an orange and a punch color. My nails also add to the color collage going on with this outfit. I picked a pretty yellow shade for this week’s nails, which is “I Just Can’t Cope-Acabana” from OPI’s Brazil Collection.
Have you ever worn an odd print because the way it was designed came out beautiful?
