The Choker Neck Sweater

Happy Monday! This past weekend was pretty uneventful for me, so today’s outfit is a bit of a February flashback. I’ll be traveling to Austin for SXSW for the next two weekends, so it felt really nice to stay home. In addition to the upcoming events, I also spent the weekend dogsitting while one of my friends is on vacation. Because I wanted to stay nearby and not leave the pup unattended for very long, I pretty much just stayed inside and started figuring out what to wear to SXSW.

The Choker Neck Sweater | OOTD

As mentioned earlier, this sweater and jeans look is one I wore in February. I can’t remember where I was going, but I do remember my hair was freshly washed. I say that because looking at the outfit, I would prefer my hair up and out of my face. If you have naturally curly hair, then you know keeping your straightened hair untouched for as long as possible is a major key so I definitely wasn’t going to put product in my hair for any kind of updo. That being said, I would love to wear this choker neck sweater with a curly pineapple or sleek ponytail. For now, we’re working with the straight hair.

As for the rest of the look, I wanted to break up the black with a lighter denim. I previously wore this choker neck sweater at home with black bottoms, but lately, I’m not interested in wearing all black if there isn’t a print involved. I paired medium wash Jamie jeans¬†from Topshop along with their Hoopla booties for a simple weekend outfit.
