Happy Monday! Instead of a merch post, today I’m appreciating professional menswear. As you know from my style resolutions post, I’m looking to dress more professionally for the year of 2014. Aside from looking at traditional work attire on the womens side, I like to draw inspiration from mens clothing as well. One brand, Paul Fredrick, is a great new line to draw inspiration from. After receiving a preview of their Spring collection, it motivated me to incorporate spring prints and patterns into my wardrobe.
My favorite shirt and tie combination is the striped button up with a polka dot tie. Mixing prints is still very much on trend, and it’s a fun way to spice up your wardrobe without having to leave your closet. So how can you take this mens shirt and tie combo and make it your own? Easy!
- For a bold look, pair a striped blouse with a polka dot circle skirt.
- For a trendy look, opt for a shift dress and wear polka dot tights underneath.
- For a subtle look, choose smaller stripes like a pinstripe pant/
