Working in an office environment causes me to start my weekday mornings with a simple question of whether or not my outfit is work appropriate.
Although I worked in retail before this, I had a designated uniform I was required to wear. Now, I enjoy the freedom of looking in my closet each day and deciding how I’ll express myself. One of my favorite forms of expression through attire is with print, animal print in particular. This leopard print tank top is great for daytime on its own, but it needed a few tweaks to make it acceptable for the office. Because it’s a little on the sheer side, I played it safe with a camisole underneath. Spaghetti straps are a no-go for the work environment, which has tremendously increased my cardigan count.
You can wear animal print in a business setting, just keep in mind a few key points:
- Make sure the neckline is conservative.
- If it’s skintight, leave it for a night out.
- Sweaters and blazers are your friends. Tone down animal print with this quick fix.
- Don’t overdo the print. Keep it to one article or accessory.
