Hi, I'm Chelsey

leopardHappy Monday!

How’s everyone adjusting to the loss of an hour? Personally, the hour loss happened during the one weekend I could’ve really used the extra time.

You may have noticed the blog went a bit radio silent last week. I needed the mini breather to regroup and adjust my schedule so I can have enough time for all of the things on my plate, as I started a new role at my job last week (yay!) that has a totally different shift, along with totally different responsibilities. Of course, all of these changes are good ones so there aren’t any complaints here! Time management skills and adapting to change are two frequent needs in my adult life, and this is just another moment where they both overlap.

But enough rambling, let’s get to the outfit of the day.

The Fashion

I love, love, love weekends where I have zero social obligations. Being that running a blog requires working from home, I live for the weekends that I can truly start and end the day productively and focus any “free time” on this little passion project. With that being said, I still have to get out of the apartment at some point in the day and take a little productivity break.

This is the outfit I wore on Saturday during that break. The weather was finally nice enough to skip a heavy coat, so I instead kept a little warm with a leopard print scarf that I’ve had for quite a few years now. It worked double duty as it also provided a little more style to my classic white v-neck and jeans look.

The Beauty

Aside from working, the weekend is also my time to experiment with makeup application. Lately, I’ve gotten plenty of use out of Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra foundation; however, I normally apply it with a beauty blender. This time, I wanted to see how it applied with a brush. The coverage turned out flawlessly smooth, which you should be able to see from the photos.

I added a touch of Covergirl Queen bronzer on the cheeks to add some dimension to my face. I wanted to wear a red lip since I haven’t rummaged through my red lipstick collection in a while, so I kept the eyes simple with a small winged liner. The lipstick of choice is one of the original Marc Jacobs matte lip gels in Scandal. I wanted the lipstick to match the spicy red of my nail polish (which is Lola by Marc Jacobs), so I added a little of NYX’s Butter Lipstick in Hot Tamale on top to up the orange factor.
