Happy Tuesday! The countdown is on for fall to trickle its way into the weather. I know we’re still pretty early in August, but this is the time of summer that gets so unbearably¬†hot that I’m just ready for fall to arrive. Because I live in Texas, it’ll be at least another 2-3 months before there’s any noticeable temperature drop, so let’s keep truckin’ along with the summer looks on the blog, okay?

Today’s look mixes two of my favorite prints: stripes and floral. Longtime readers of the blog may remember that this print mix is my absolute favorite combination. I don’t wear it often because I’m extremely picky when it comes to finding striped clothing, but it’s an instant mood booster when I find the perfect top. The striped floral top was purchased from Zara a few months ago while I was in Vegas.

I paired the top with denim shorts, also from Zara. While the general rule of thumb is to keep the top covered if you have the bottom exposed (for balance), I don’t follow those rules during peak Texas heat. It’s possible to show a bit of skin in both areas and still feel comfortable during the day, just choose a thicker heel to keep the day look from turning into a night out vibe.

What print combination is your favorite?
