Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Last week was a bit draining towards the end of the week, so I definitely needed a relaxing weekend. Aside from going to dinner and watching Proud Mary, I went shopping around for home decor inspiration. Maybe it’s just that time of year, but I’ve been in such a redecorating mood. I can never stick to one accent color for very long, maybe because I’m not much a bright colors kind of person.
Millennial pink was my accent color against a sea of grey last year, so this year I want to switch it up in my home by using plants and other greenery as the accent shade. I don’t have the greenest thumb, so please leave your tips on keeping plants alive if you have any! For now, I may stick with low maintenance cacti. Now, on to the outfit.

How I Style the Trench Coat | OOTD
Do you ever wait on purchasing something and find a better alternative for a lower price? That’s how I ended up with this gorgeous trench coat. I spotted a gorgeous camel winter coat with red accents at Topshop, structured similarly to my leopard coat a few months ago. I was on a no-buy at the time and passed it up.
A few weeks ago, the coat actually went on sale at Nordstrom and they were out of my size. Fast forward a few weeks later, and I spot this trench coat at Target for less than half the price of what I originally wanted. A trench coat is a timeless item to have in your wardrobe and I can’t believe it took me this long to find one I like!
Trench Coat Style Tips
I love that the trench coat is lightweight enough to carry into Spring. I’m still working it into my wardrobe, but so far these are the style tips I’ve discovered while putting together looks:
- Limit prints to accessories only.
- Cotton tops mix well with the fabric of a trench coat.
- Denim of all shades looks effortlessly chic.
- A neutral top will keep the trench coat from looking like outerwear, and more like a key piece to the outfit.
Overall, I think I’ve almost completed my coat collection! I still have a few on my wishlist, but I’m really pleased with what I’ve curated over the years.
