Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a safe and lovely holiday weekend! While I didn’t totally disconnect from social media (catch up on Instagram if you missed any pics), I definitely enjoyed getting out of the city for a bit and spending time with family. But like all good things, the holiday weekend has come to an end so it’s back to work for me now that I’m back in town.
As you may recall, red boots made my list for fall boot must-haves. I’ve since shared a few outfits showcasing various boot trends this season, and we’re finally entering the red boot section. Over in the YouTube space, I shared a few outfit ideas to help you style red boots this season. This look didn’t make it to the video, but I wanted to feature it on the blog because the color scheme is fantastic. Grey and red pair beautifully together because the muted grey tones help the pop of color stand out.
W A T C H: How to Style Red Boots
The Sweatshirt Dress
I know it’s more fashion than practical to pair a fur coat with a sweatshirt dress that exposes your legs, but this look doesn’t have the same pop with opaque tights underneath. If anything, I would only add fishnet tights for an edgier finish. I live in Texas where winter is more of a daily thing rather than a full season, so I have flexibility with layering while showing some skin.
If you live in a colder state and want to recreate the look, I would honestly push through for this one sans pants and wear a sweatshirt dress on its own! Steve Madden makes a gorgeous red thigh-high boot that has the same suede finish and pointed toe as the shorter pair I’m wearing. Instead of adding pants, cover a bit more skin by swapping ankle boots for thigh-highs.
