Hey hey, happy Wednesday! I hope you all don’t mind the usual Monday outfit post being delayed this week. If you caught my Instagram stories over the weekend, you know that I was out of town! I visited my hometown on Saturday to see my family, and on Sunday I went to Austin to meet up with friends and go to Lana del Rey’s concert. I didn’t get back in town until late and had work early the next day, so the outfit post had to wait. Today, I’m sharing the look I wore while in Austin.
Outfit Details:

SUNGLASSES: Quay | SHOES: (1) Nike (2) Steve Madden
Day to Night OOTD | The Graphic Tee
To quote an iconic Outkast song, “you can plan a pretty picnic, but you can’t predict the weather.” Listen, the groundhog was not joking around this year when his shadow said there would be six more weeks of winter. Two weekends ago, I was literally wearing shorts. It was a week before Lana del Rey’s concert and the weather inspired me to plan my concert outfit: shorts with a pretty floral top. Basically, I wanted a festival kind of vibe with a boot instead of a sandal. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans.
By the time Lana’s concert arrived, the temperature dropped down to the low 30-40 degree range. Andddd it was raining on and off. Basically, my springtime festival vibe idea was a total bust and I had to throw together a last-minute concert outfit that didn’t leave me freezing. What’s a girl to do when in need of a last minute concert outfit?
Shop your own closet and grab a staple! I knew that even though the concert was at night, I’d be spending the day out and about with friends. I wanted an outfit that was comfortable enough for the full day, so I decided to do a mini outfit change while sticking in the same red, denim, and black color palette.
Daytime Casual
For the daytime look, I kept styled a Ballin tee from Boohoo with denim and the red sneakers that were featured in my recent favorites video. I’m typically not a fan of a denim jacket with jeans, so I added a pop of black with my favorite leather jacket. I’ve featured this leather jacket so many times over the years, but it’s seriously such a closet staple and is the perfect fit. Normally, I would wear a red lip to complement the red details in the look. Since I met up with my friends pretty early in the day for brunch, I kept my lips natural. Call me lazy, but wearing a bold lip while eating is just extremely inconvenient.
Concert Outfit
As for the concert, I didn’t get a good quality photo (so sorry for that!) since the venue didn’t allow cameras and we were in low light. I still wanted to include a shot of what I wore, so the phone pic will have to do for now! Keeping with the color palette of the day, I swapped the black jacket and blue jeans combo with a jean jacket and black jeans combination. The Topshop black jeans are an ankle cut, but the Steve Madden red boots were tall enough to hide the cropped hem. I also added a red lip for the night using Fenty Beauty’s Stunna lip paint in Uncensored.
Despite not wearing what I actually wanted to wear to Lana’s show, I had a great weekend and felt comfortable all day. As long as I’m comfortable in whatever it is that I’m wearing, I consider it a successful look.
