Memorial Day Weekend | OOTD
What a week! I know it’s only Tuesday, but I feel like this week is extremely busy! I’m looking forward to another mini trip out of town this upcoming weekend. Over the Memorial Day weekend, I went out of town to spend time with my family and get a good night’s sleep. Even though the weather was in the triple-digits, I enjoyed all the sunshine!
When I’m spending time with family, I like to pack clothes that are basically travel outfits. This time around, I wore a lightweight, striped maxi dress from Forever 21. If you haven’t noticed over the years, most of the maxi dresses I purchase for the summer end up being from Forever 21. While you do have to dig a little bit, they always end up making some of my favorite dress prints. With other retail stores, I find their maxi dresses to feel heavier than Forever 21. In Texas, I’m looking for as little fabric as possible.
I styled the striped maxi dress with a trendy denim jacket from Zara. I love the one I have from Topshop, but this Zara option has more of a tailored fit. It’s perfect when I don’t want to wear the boxy, oversized jacket. The bottom half of the jacket is distressed, while the sleeves have almost a billowed cap sleeve at the shoulders. Even though it ended up being much hotter than I expected outside, I still had to show the jacket a little love and layer it on top of the dress for a little while.
