*If you’re just tuning in, this post is a continuation of the #liquidlipseries. Previously, I shared a collective liquid lipstick haul of what’s to come and I also swatched the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks.*
Next in the series is Coloured Raine, which formula wise is my favorite of all the liquid lipsticks I own.
The Coloured Raine Formula
- Buildable, thin liquid texture
- Easy to apply
- Extremely long wearing (8+ hours)
- Minimal product transfer
- Cruelty-free and vegan-friendly for my vegans out there!
When I say I love the Coloured Raine formula, I mean I L-O-V-E the Coloured Raine formula. It’s that good. So why do I love it so much? Because it’s everything you’re looking for in a liquid lipstick: high color payoff, long-wearing, and best of all is the ability to do these things without even the slightest hint of dryness. I don’t know how they do it, but they’ve really nailed the key to a perfect liquid lipstick.
Coloured Raine is an excellent choice for the 9-5 girl. I’ve worn Bachelorette several times to work and have only had to touch up sometimes after eating lunch. Even then, it’s not a necessity to touch up. Some days I can eat lunch and I don’t have to reapply if I don’t want to. Other days, I’ll need to reapply only because the inner portion of my lips will have rubbed off, leaving an ombré effect. I hadn’t heard anything about the brand when I placed my order, so I only purchased two colors to be safe. If I knew the formula was this good, I definitely would have ordered all 5 colors on my wish list.
One thing worth noting is the formula seems to move with you. By that, I mean it’s extremely comfortable and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a liquid lipstick. I can purse my lips together or freely move them around without feeling like the color is cracking or drying out my lips.
The Lip Swatches
Similar to ABH, I only own two Colored Raine Matte Lip Paints: Mars and Bachelorette.
Mars is a dusty rose shade that I’ve found can easily be manipulated with lip liners or lippie stix. For the purposes of getting the true color, the below swatch is how it applies on my lips without any additional liner. I wasn’t sold on the color when I first received it, but I love it on top of ColourPop’s Grunge lippie stix.
Bachelorette was an instant love. I can wear this color straight out the tube, or pair it with a liner for a darker look. The website doesn’t have a color description for Bachelorette, which doesn’t surprise me because I find it hard to accurately describe the shade. Depending on the quantity applied and the lighting, it’s somewhere in the red, brown, rose, and blush color family.
Next up on the #liquidlipseries is ColourPop! It’s a doozy, so I hope you’re ready for a lot of swatches!
