I know, I know…we’re practically in the middle of March and my February favorites are just now being posted? As I mentioned in Monday’s post, last week was silent on the blog so I could readjust to my new schedule. I have a few things that were on steady rotation last month, so I figured it’s better late than never!
The Beauty
- MakeupGeek Eyeshadow Quad – Peach Smoothie, Creme Brulee, Chickadee, and Cocoa Bear
With the exception of Chickadee, this quad was my go-to choice during the month of February. I love having the ability to mix and match these neutral shades in various combinations to diversify my natural eye makeup. I have a full review with swatches on the blog that goes further into detail about the MakeupGeek eyeshadows, which you can find here. - Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h Makeup
This is my second Lancome foundation, and I’m pleased so far. I actually purchased and returned this previously, but the second time is usually a charm for me. I’ve mentioned on a previous outfit post that Lancome’s Nude Miracle foundation is great for everyday, but doesn’t provide the coverage I’d like when it comes to photographs. That’s what prompted me to try this option again, and I’m glad I did. I love the consistency and coverage for days when I know I’m going to shoot, or for days when my skin just needs more than a sheer application. - Milani Matte Lipstick in Matte Naked
Milani lipsticks are some of the top affordable lipstick options on the market, and their latest matte collection isn’t an exception. Matte Naked is a beautiful natural lip shade that errs on the side of tan more than mauve. What I love most about it is how well it pairs with lip gloss. I realize topping it with a gloss defeats the purpose of the matte finish, but it truly emphasizes the beauty of the color. - NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu
Milani’s naked lipstick is why this butter gloss made it to my favorites. This is usually my go-to lip gloss anyway, but it looks the best topped over Matte Naked. I have a few different brands of lip gloss, but I only ever reach for NARS or one of these butter glosses. - Lorac Unzipped Palette
There hasn’t been too much chatter about the newest Lorac Unzipped Gold palette, which leads me to believe this original Unzipped palette suits all my needs. I’ve used the matte shades within the palette a lot this past month. I love the long-wearing factor of Lorac shadows, and this Unzipped palette has the added bonus of coming with a lot of product.
Miscellaneous
- Kendra Scott Tassel Necklace
This gorgeous necklace was a Christmas present from one of my good friends. It’s the Phara Necklace by Kendra Scott, and I had my eye on it for months. It’s not like any necklace I’ve owned previously, especially because it’s an open necklace. I like having the option of wearing it in its original open style, or looping it together to wear it as a closed piece. - Nude by Rihanna Perfume and Body Lotion
Another Christmas present! My sister bought this for me and I’ve been going through it so quickly that I’m afraid I’ll run out before this month’s end. I’m a big fan of Rihanna’s perfumes, and this one is like the daytime version of her original scent, Rebelle by Rihanna. It’s softly sexy, with sandalwood and vanilla orchid notes. The only problem is that it doesn’t last as long as other perfumes I own, which is to be expected with celebrity scents.
Recurring Favorites
- Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black
- Sheer, Minimal Tops
- Faux Fur Coats
If you missed last month’s favorites, be sure to check them out here. As you can see from the above list, a few favorites from January also carried over into the month of February.
