Hi, I'm Chelsey

Salon-Perfect-Nail-Polish-Haul

At last, I’ve found them!

Are you aware of how difficult it was for me to find Salon Perfect nail polish? Let me give a little background… My sister should be a fashion buyer. Seriously. She has this uncanny ability to be on trend before the trend even happens, or right as it’s getting its legs. She had a beautifully bright peach nail polish on the last time I saw her, and I asked her what it was because I had to have it. Maybe I’m the only one with this problem, but it’s extremely hard to find a true peach color that’s extremely vibrant. Hers was, and I absolutely needed it in my collection. She showed me the bottle, and it was Salon Perfect’s Flamingo Flair. I hadn’t heard of the brand before this interaction, but I’ve been on the hunt ever since.

Between that time and now, I’ve noticed the brand popping up on Youtube. Both Carli Bybel and Nicole Guerrero were recently spotted wearing a gorgeous shade called Purple Pop by the brand. Seeing a second color that was just as opaque and vibrant as the shade my sister owned made me want to stock up even more. Finally, I found them….unfortunately, neither shade was in stock but at least I found the brand. So where did I find them?

Where to Buy Salon Perfect Polish

This brand is only available in Walmart stores. It makes sense why I hadn’t heard of the brand now, because I am never at Walmart. I made a trip up there over the weekend and lo and behold, there was the polish. I really wish the purple and peach shades were in stock because I don’t know when I’ll be at Walmart again, but I still took advantage and picked up five other colors.

The Price of Salon Perfect

Salon Perfect nail polish runs for $4 a bottle, $3.98 to be exact. Is it worth the price? It’s tough to say. Considering it’s exclusively sold at Walmart and 90% of the colors (based off of the selection I purchased) require a shiny top coat makes me feel like it should cost a little less. My sister and I both agree the polish should probably be lowered to $2.98, but it’s still pretty affordable compared to my other favorite brands.

Will I Repurchase

Absolutely. Granted, I haven’t own these long enough to have a true opinion, but I like what I’ve experienced so far. What I love most about Salon Perfect polishes is the vibrancy. Every shade I bought is bold, including the lime green. Other lime greens I’ve owned appear opaque in the bottle but require at least three coats to achieve a solid finish. The only thing to keep in mind with this brand is the necessity of a top coat. Unless you’re into the matte finish, I highly doubt you’ll like the nail polish on its own. The only shade that didn’t require a top coat was the deep blue.

Swatches

Okay, I’ve talked enough. Let’s get to the swatches. For reference, all swatches have two coats of color applied. I also used Sally Hansen’s Big Shiny Top Coat nail polish to add shine. I picked up the following colors:

Salon-Perfect-Haute-Pink

I’m not sure why they called this shade Haute Pink. To me, it’s hot red orange with pink undertones. I own a lot of nail polish on the red/orange/pink side of the color spectrum, but I don’t own a single color that mimics what this can do.

This shade is perfectly named. It really is traffic cone orange. It’s extremely vibrant, so I recommend this if you have a hard time finding a bold orange.

Salon-Perfect-Loopy-Lime

This one is my least favorite of the bunch. It’s not that I don’t like the color, it’s that I’m starting to realize this shade isn’t something I feel looks flattering on my hands. I’ll wear it occassionally but for the most part it’s not something I see myself reaching for. A comparable shade is Vices Versa by Essie, which I’ve previously swatched on the blog. I recommend Salon Perfect’s Loopy Lime over Vices Versa because it isn’t sheer or streaky.

Salon-Perfect-Gone-Sailing

How gorgeous is this teal? Of the five I purchased, this Gone Sailing color is my favorite. In general, I love teal nail polish. As soon as I applied it, it reminded me of Essie’s Naughty Nautical polish. Both are beautiful, and both are opaque. The main difference is Naughty Nautical has a hint of shimmer when in the sun. If you don’t want to shell out $8.50 for a bottle of nail polish, Salon Perfect’s Gone Sailing makes for an excellent dupe.

Salon-Perfect-Nothing-But-Blue-Skies

Last but not least, we have Nothing But Blue Skies. This is the shade what’s currently on my nails. In Monday’s outfit post, you can see that I added a blue shimmer on top; however, it’s still a pretty color on its own. (I’m just really into sparkle right now.) While this color is gorgeous, I do think it’s a shade that can easily be found amongst other nail polish brands.
