What I’m Wearing: H&M sweatshirt | Zara leggings (similar) | Steve Madden boots
I have a feeling self-care will be a major focus for a lot of us this year. When did you last take time for yourself? My mind is on self-care because I feel great today and I was trying to pinpoint the cause. It could be the fact that I met my goal of going to the gym 5x last week, but I’ve been doing that for the past 3 weeks now. I’ve also been eating extremely clean since New Year’s Day, which I can tell is doing wonders on my productivity. All that aside, I think the true reason I’m so refreshed today is because I had a weekend to myself.
I love hanging out with friends and family, but taking a little time to recharge at home is essential. This was the first weekend in at least a month without any social obligations, and you know what? I didn’t realize how drained I was until I had a moment to myself. Despite all of that, it was still a productive weekend. I (finally) took down my Christmas tree, indulged in a pampering session with hair and face masks, started the process of purging my closet, and reorganized my place to shift the energy around–yes, I’m a bit of a hippie-dippie on occasion.
These low-key “self-care and chill” weekends are the perfect times to bust out a lazy day outfit. My current go-to is this all black combination of a sweatshirt with leggings: the ultimate cozy pairing. These Zara leggings are thick enough to keep me warm while also having plenty of flexibility and stretch. In the wintertime, I especially like to feel cozy at home with something oversized and relaxed. I wore this sweatshirt to a concert a few months ago, but it’s versatile enough to be paired with leggings for an effortless loungewear outfit.
What makes this my go-to lazy day look? It’s cute, it’s comfortable, and it’s effortless. Nothing messes up a relaxed vibe quite like having to change out of your lazy day outfit to go run a few errands or have a last-minute meetup with a friend. With this outfit, I can walk around my place with furry slides and just as easily slip on a pair of ankle boots to head out the door.
