Hi, I'm Chelsey

We’re a month into the new year, how are your resolutions holding up so far? These past few years have really taught me the art of slowing down, so don’t fret if you felt like you didn’t have it all figured out on January 1st. There’s beauty in going at your own pace, and that is true for resolutions!

Today, we’re diving deep into the world of resolutions by creating some style goals that will help you rediscover what you love about fashion. As we enter year 3 (yikes) of a pandemic, there’s value in creating a few style resolutions. Much of my wardrobe has whittled down to loungewear and gym clothes, and I’m ready to get back into my fashionable self! If you didn’t know, I’ve been posting my day-to-day outfits over on LiketoKnowit, so be sure to follow me there for additional style inspiration.

This year, it’s time to rediscover everything you loved about fashion.

Now, do you have your pen and paper ready? Take a peek at a few of my style resolutions and write down the ones that you plan on trying!

3 Style Resolutions to Boost Your Daily Outfits

1. Embrace the Bold! Add Color and Prints

Neutrals have been all the rage for the past few years–and with good reason! Neutral tones are clean, timeless, and extremely versatile. Like most trends, we tend to go from one extreme to the other until we eventually find the perfect balance. The upcoming season is already starting to feature lots of bold colors and soft, pastel shades. While you don’t have to dive headfirst into a full colorful jumpsuit, challenge yourself to pick the colorful option as you shop for new pieces throughout the year.

2. Get Fully Dressed for Your Day

Listen, I get it. We’ve been in a pandemic for entirely too long and with that, more important things come up other than fashion. You may have even lost a bit of interest in fashion due to the ebb and flow of reduced socializing these past few years. If you happen to have a work-from-home job, that can further motivate you to ditch the denim for sweatpants.

This year, it’s time to fall back in love with fashion. Outfits can dictate your mood and your day, so it’s time to get fully dressed again. Enjoy the act of putting together a cute outfit, even if most of your day will only be through Zoom. There’s something so fun about putting together outfits after 2 years of only focusing on comfort. Perhaps your style has changed for the better!

3. Remix Your Old Favorites

The idea of getting fully dressed may have you feeling a little overwhelmed, but don’t worry! You don’t have to toss your current wardrobe aside; instead, try starting with what you currently have.

Looking at your current wardrobe can help you shop to fill the gaps and be selective with which trends you want to try. Remix your old favorites by pulling out an item you used to love and try styling it to fit who you are today. Do you still love that oversized blazer but fell out of love with skinny jeans? Try remixing it with a fitted mini dress or a bralette and high-waisted leather shorts.

In the Details: This chain-link woven bag is my new favorite way to add a pop of color to neutral outfits.
