Nike top | VS Sport leggings (similar) | Nike shoes | H&M jacket | Quay sunglasses

If you follow the blog on Instagram, you may remember I just got back from a California trip last week. I attended Beautycon LA and got to sightsee a bit during the downtime. I packed as light as possible while keeping all the necessities within arms reach. Camera and tech stuff included, I traveled with my smaller Calpak marble suitcase and my absolute favorite overnight bag–the Sole Society duffle.

Our arrival flight got in at 7 am so there was tons of time to explore the city. I say all that to say, I didn’t have the energy to pack a second outfit for when we landed. Instead, I wanted to simplify where I could–why not keep packing minimal and wear a multi-purpose look?

I swapped out the shoes and added a jacket to repurpose one of my more recent go-to workout looks. The Nike crop is super comfortable, purchased from Nordstrom a few weeks ago. I bought it primarily for the gym, but I can definitely see myself wearing it for athleisure looks. It’s a mesh top without being totally see-through, so it doesn’t feel like too much for the airport. I wore a strappy sports bra from Forever 21 underneath and paired the top with my favorite workout pants from VS Sport.

If you haven’t tried a mid to high-rise workout pant, your life is about to change. Go to the nearest Victorias Secret (or Nordstrom because Ivy Park has some too) and try on workout pants with a high waist. Not only do you feel securely snatched, but it’s nice to bend without feeling like your pants are slipping. The moto leggings are gym-ready yet fashionable enough in the details to wear around town and feel put together.

At the gym, I’m almost always working out in my black Nike Juvenate shoes because they feel even more lightweight than Free Runs. For the airport style, I liked the look of the white Nike Bijoux trainers. I added a denim jacket from H&M because you never know how hot or cold it’ll be on the plane, and the pop of denim helped break up the outfit. Sunglasses are a must for me since my eyes are a little sensitive to light, and the High Key Fades from Quay Australia has been my go-to in recent weeks. They add a touch of edge and attitude to any outfit.

What’s your travel style?
