We’re just one week away from the first official day of Fall, but I’m already in the spirit. If you ask me, the true fall season begins with NYFW. I’ve shared in the past how a few easy swaps can update your makeup look for the summertime, so today we’re carrying it into the fall.
3 Makeup Trends to Bring into Fall
Black Eyeliner
During the Spring and Summer, eyeliner tends to take a backseat. The warmer seasons are all about the fresh face and subtle glow so packing on heavy shadow and liner isn’t in the forefront. This Fall, take advantage of the seasons changing and rediscover the power of a strong eyeliner look.
NYC and L’Oreal are my personal favorites for a good drugstore liquid liner because they offer options with a brush tip, but a good cream or gel liner can also get the job done. For a smoky effect, use a smudge brush to soften out the harsh lines with a charcoal or espresso eyeshadow.
Rich Lips
Red lips in the fall is about as groundbreaking as florals in the spring, right? In addition to the classic red lip, try a range of rich browns and purples to add variety into your seasonal lip this year. ColourPop’s Kae ultra matte is one of my favorite shades to wear because it’s a medium brown with rich undertones, perfect for Fall.
Glitter Makeup
Makeup looks with glittery eyes were all over the Fall/Winter runways. While the casual look may not include fairy-like glitter across the eyes, you can incorporate the trend by trying out a glitter eyeliner. For a more daring look, skip the eyes and instead apply glitter over your favorite lipstick. If you couldn’t get your hands on the Pat McGrath lip kits before they sold out on Sephora’s website, NYX offers a much cheaper alternative by selling both glitter primer and face glitter for $6 each.
