I can’t believe tomorrow marks the halfway point for my 30-day style challenge! Oddly enough, it feels like it’s going by so quickly yet also taking forever. This week’s update is a very quick one, as I noticed one thing about myself when it comes to this challenge:
For the most part, I really do seem to wear just 20% of my wardrobe.
There are things I miss wearing, but I did a pretty good job of selecting what I reach for most often. I think if shoes and accessories weren’t included in the 33-item limit, I could have easily picked out everything I regularly wear within my wardrobe.
One unexpected discovery is that I definitely miss having a variety of shoes to pick from, which is interesting because I’ve never really considered myself to be a shoe person. I also find myself on occasion wishing I could wear something else, but that’s mostly due to the fact that I can’t right now. Realistically, I’m fine with wearing my 33-piece wardrobe for the time being, it’s the actual fact of having a restriction that makes me want to wear something else.
The good news with my halfway checkpoint is that I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Not only will I have the freedom to pick any shoe or wear those few extra tees that I miss, but I’ll also come out of this challenge with a clearer understanding of what I like to wear.
How do you think you’d do with a style challenge? It’s not too late to try this out for yourself!
