It’s finally September! It seems like it took forever but also came suddenly all at once. Either way, I’m happy to inch closer and closer to cooler weather. Below are my monthly favorites, which I honestly reached for nearly every day in both July and August. Another favorite for the month that I forgot to include in the photos is Lana del Rey’s Ultraviolence album. I love Paradise and Born to Die, but Utlraviolence is her best album in my opinion. It’s hard to pick a favorite song from the album since it changes daily, but currently mine is Florida Kilos. If you haven’t listened to it yet I highly recommend streaming it on Spotify. As for the other faves, let’s start with beauty:
Beauty Picks
-
Lorac Pro Palette 2
The colors are much lighter than the Lorac Pro shades, so it has been my go-to palette for daytime work looks. The only downside with this palette is the material of the packaging gets stained in an instant. The only colors I have yet to use are Navy, Black and Snow. I normally wear Nectar on my lid, Lt Brown in the crease, and Buff on the browbone.
-
L’Oreal Voluminous Manga
L’Oreal makes the best mascaras in the drugstore world, and this one is no exception. I’ve talked about it previously here, so I won’t go into too much detail. It can be worn alone, but I usually wear it on top of MUFE’s Smoky Extravagant mascara for ultimate length and volume.
-
Essie’s “Naughty Nautical” Polish
Another product I’ve previously talked about, and with good reason. Naughty Nautical was on constant rotation this summer. The subtle shimmer mixed with the turquoise shade looked great in conjunction with my usual gold accessories. View a swatch of this polish (along with my other summer polish picks) over on my Essie and OPI haul post.
-
Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation
I didn’t like liquid foundation until I tried this one, by recommendation of a friend. I buy the Covergirl Queen version because the undertones are better matched to my skintone than the standard cool tones of the Outlast version. It feels lightweight on the skin and doesn’t oxidize throughout the day.
-
TIGI Blush in “Haute”
Talk about a hidden gem! The only reason I own this is because when one of my good friends got married in Spring, we had our hair and makeup done by Toni & Guy. This was the blush that was used on me, and I loved the finish. It has a sheen finish that gives your cheeks a warm and healthy glow. Check out the TIGI Cosmetics site for more shades.

Crossbody bags
I always find myself going back to the tried and true fit of a crossbody bag. During the summer, it’s hot enough outside without having to lug around a large purse in the heat. Lately, the only time I sport a large bag is when I’m headed to work. Fun fact: I mainly purchase large bags because they’re big enough to store food. The one pictured above is from Forever 21, and I love the gold chain strap in place of a standard fabric handle.
-
Sheer blouses
I have lived in sheer blouses at work. They’re so lightweight and look especially chic in simple, basic colors. I like the flexibility of neutral clothing because you can go a little further with a printed shoe or bright lip without looking like an 80s movie. I plan on bringing this love into fall and switching out white tops for olive, maroon, and black.
-
Skinny black pants
Need I say more? I literally want a pair for every day of the week. Two down, five to go.
-
Leopard print shoes
I am absolutely in love with my leopard print shoes; both pairs, but specifically the ones pictured above. These are the ‘Elusion’ flats by Steve Madden. The pointed toe adds a dash of professionalism to an outfit, which is why they are my favorite shoes to wear to work.
-
Statement necklaces
I fall in and out of love with jewelry, and we’re currently in our on-again phase. Being that I wear a lot of solid colors to work, necklaces (and leopard print shoes) keep the outfit interestin
