Note to self: Bring a second suitcase the next time I go on vacation.
The tricky thing about shopping while traveling is making sure you’ll have the space in your carryon bag for all of the new stuff. I purchased quite a few things while in Vegas, but most of the items are smaller so I was able to group them and decrease the amount of photos needed for this already long post. I purchased a few beauty, fashion, and music items, so let’s jump right in with beauty products first.
From MAC
- Plum lipliner
- Whirl lipstick – matte finish
- Verve lipstick – satin finish
- Evening Rendezvous – matte finish
Almost immediately after I shared my favorite Mac lipsticks, Whirl and the lipliner I pair with it (Plum) disappeared. I have no idea where I misplaced them, but after many failed attempts to locate the dynamic duo, I accepted the fact that I’d have to repurchase. I’m still low key hoping I can find them, because that’ll mean I’ll have two tubes of one of my favorite lipstick shades. Anyways, I went into MAC purely to repurchase those two items. I also picked up Verve because the shade looked like it would be a pretty brown once applied. Breaking out of the neutral shell, the last shade I picked up was Evening Rendezvous. I’ve had a few purple shades in my day, but what I like about this one is the lack of vibrancy. The purple tone is soft enough against my lips to not be the focal point if that makes sense. The only thing that throws me off is the packaging. Although beautiful (it’s from the Magic of the Night collection), I like to keep the packaging consistent with my MAC lipsticks since they’re on display.
From Sephora
- Glamglow SuperMud Clearing Treatment
- Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Chocolate
- Kat Von D Limited Edition Lolita Lip Duo
- Buxom Objects of Obsession 500 Point Perk Box
I’ve wanted to try the Glamglow products for a while now, and the VIB sale was the perfect time to indulge. I’m seriously hoping I like them, especially because I’m still on the hunt for a good skincare routine. Although there are gift sets now that are a pretty good deal, I don’t have any interest in what they’re offering. I’ve only wanted to try the white and black glamglow masks, so I purchased the full-size Supermud mask and travel size Youthmud mask. I haven’t tried either out just yet, but I’ll share my experience once I do.
Those were my splurge purchases, but I also picked up another Brow Wiz for when the ones I have inevitably run out. A spur of the moment purchase of course had to happen as I was walking through the checkout. I quickly swatched the Kat Von D Lolita duo and headed to the cashier. By the time I was ready to pay, I looked down at my hand and really liked the color of Lolita once it dried. Lolita II was a little lackluster, but I figured I might as well pick the duo up while it’s available. I just applied Lolita as I’m writing this post, and it looks like a mixture between Whirl and Verve. I haven’t tried out Lolita II yet, but it looks like it will have a warm tint that I’m not too keen on.
Sephora has had a lot of great rewards this year, I don’t think I’ve ever cashed in my points as much as I did during 2015. This last trip was no exception, as I redeemed 500 more points to nab the Buxom box. I’ve had trial sizes of the Buxom lip products previously and enjoyed them, so I figured their box would be a good choice. The cashier agreed, which makes me even more excited to try out some of the products inside.
From Nectar Bath Treats
This purchase was simply me being a tourist. We stayed at the Signature at MGM Grand, and downstairs was the cutest little boutique called Nectar Bath Treats. Nectar Bath Treats sells high quality bath products, and a majority of them are carved to look like desserts. As good as they smell, I don’t plan on using them. I purchased one bar of soap that looks like a pretty sprinkled donut, and another that’s in the shape of a delicate cupcake. I’m not a keychain person, so these soaps are my souvenirs.
From Topshop
Surprisingly, I went to Topshop and didn’t purchase a single Topshop item. I fell in love with an olive bomber jacket that had gold detailing, but the petite version felt a bit short in the sleeves. Don’t you hate it when that happens? It takes me forever to find a nice coat, so when I do, I want to purchase it on sight. I did end up purchasing a pair of Quay Australia glasses. I haven’t purchased a pair since my initial haul and review post from late Spring so I don’t know if their packaging has changed or if in-store purchases have a different case. They look the same on the outside, but the quality of the sunglasses case is much lower than what I received when I ordered from online. Despite that, I really like my purchase. I picked up the Modern Love style in black on black. They’re pretty similar to the About Last Night pair that I have, but they have an angled edge for a different look.
I purchased a set of Kendra Scott Rose gold midi rings a while back. Ever since, I’ve taken a liking to rose gold against my skin tone. I found a pair of thin rose gold hoops by Orelia London near the checkout line and had to purchase them.
From Steve Madden
- Tweed Crossbody
- Navy Blue Pom Pom Keychain
I can’t even explain what it is that caught my eye with this bag, but I spotted it from outside the store and immediately had to get it. Something about it just looks so chic and professional, but also versatile for day wear. I think the tweed gives me Chanel jacket vibes, all I know is it’s gorgeous and instantly my favorite bag.
I was not on board with the furry pom pom purse attachments until I went to Vegas. Truthfully, I didn’t see a combination that didn’t look tacky against their bag of choice. In Vegas, they knew how to style them against the right bags to make them sell. I still don’t understand why anyone would spend hundreds on a Fendi pom pom, but Steve Madden had some really pretty colors for a great price.
From Tory Burch
One can never have too many nude flats. One of my friends bought a pair of Steve Madden flats for me for my birthday last year, which I wear all the time. What I like about the Tory Burch flats is the emblem on the toe of the shoe. I’ve only been back in town for a few days and I’ve already deemed these flats as a workwear staple. The gold emblem adds a bit of flair that makes me feel more professional as opposed to wearing solid flats.
From Urban Outfitters
This year has been one music-centric time for me, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. As you saw from my ACL Photo Diaries, I recently saw Tame Impala in person which amplified my existing love for them. Anytime I can listen to an album from start to finish without skipping a single song, I like to get the vinyl. I purchased their most recent album, Currents, as well as their previous album, Lonerism. I’m slowly but surely building up my collection of records, which is oddly satisfying.
All in all, I had a great time shopping the strip. If you see any products you’d like a review on, leave a comment to let me know! I’m really eager to try out the Glamglow masks and see if they’re worth the hype.
Ok the MAC verve and Kat Von D Lolita duo are EVERYTHING! Seriously perfect. So glad you’re trying them out!!!

Agreed! I’ve already worn Verve to work since purchasing it, and I can tell it’s going to be a favorite!
