There are two types of people in the world:
- Those with a signature scent
- Those with a seasonal scent
If I had to categorize myself, I’d join the seasonal scent group. Despite loving a particular perfume, I can’t bring myself to wear it if it smells too much like the opposing season. When it comes to picking a scent for a particular season, I usually like to have two options. Over the summer I primarily used VS Body in both the lotion and body mist as one option, and VS Tease lotion with VS Love Me body mist as the second option. At the time, Tease was out of stock in the spray. Now that we’re well into Fall, I stopped by Victoria’s Secret to stock up on two scents to wear throughout the season.
Set One | Soft and Flirty
- VS Tease Fragrance Lotion
- VS Tease Fragrance Mist
- Elizabeth and James Nirvana White
When it comes to picking a body lotion, wash, or mist, I always start with a perfume I already own in mind. I’ve raved about both Elizabeth and James Nirvana scents, so naturally each one was my starting point. Elizabeth and James Nirvana White perfume has a sophisticated feminine scent with the perfect balance between fresh floral and warm musk. I rarely carry summer scents into Fall, but I found Victoria’s Secret Tease lotion to complement Nirvana White perfectly. Not to mention, it doesn’t have any strong notes of summer. Tease is a warm scent with primary notes of black vanilla and gardenia. I restocked on the lotion after running out by the end of the summer, and lucked out this time because they also had the matching fragrance mist. This combination will be my go-to pick during the day or when I’m wearing lighter colors.
Set Two | Sweet and Spicy
- VS Scandalous Fragrance Lotion
- VS Scandalous Fragrance Mist
- Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black
Nirvana Black is my all-time favorite scent. When I first purchased it, I tried to preserve it because I love it so much. Luckily, it’s such a spicy scent that I really just like to wear it at night or during the cooler months when I’m wearing darker colors. Does anyone else find their perfume mood based on the color of their outfit? Something about wearing earthy tones or black makes me want to top it off with a spicy scent. To complement Nirvana Black’s primarily violet and vanilla notes, I chose Victoria’s Secret Scandalous lotion and matching mist. Scandalous smells sweet without the youth factor, if that makes sense. The primary notes are raspberry liqueur, black peony, and praline.
Even though I purchased each set with particular mixes in mind, the Nirvana perfumes mix and match together as well as with both VS scents. Overall, Scandalous and Nirvana Black are my top favorites. Even if you don’t own both Nirvana perfumes, I recommend checking out Victoria’s Secret for a few fall-inspired scents.
