If you missed the introductory post, you may not have realized that I’m currently on a capsule wardrobe challenge. I have a fairly good idea of things I reach for daily, but entering a challenge like this one will not only help me realize what itens are my staples, but also what key pieces I’m missing in my wardrobe. Now that we’re into a new week, I thought it would be a good idea to share what thoughts I had during the first week.
Week 1 was a good starter week since the first of the month wasn’t until Tuesday, so I had the freedom of wearing anything on Sunday and Monday. When I initially decided to do this challenge, I was thinking my struggles would occur during the workweek, but I’ve actually found the opposite to be true.
This first weekend alone, I’ve wanted to wear three pieces I contemplated including into the challenge but ultimately left out: Converse, my usual stacking rings, and taupe boots. I was able to make it work with the selected Steve Madden sandals as my go-to weekend shoe, but I can safely say that I’ll be happy once I can wear an alternate pair.

Although I’m primarily posting real-time photos on Snapchat for all 30 days of the challenge, I will sprinkle in a few here on the blog. Today’s look is actually what I wore yesterday. Shorts are pretty much a given for days that are spent mostly at home. I paired mine with a newer tee that’s quickly becoming a favorite: the little black tee from Francesca’s.
