I talked previously about trends we’ll begin to see more of this year, and one of them is a personal favorite: stripes. Despite my love of greyscale clothing, there are three prints I will always include in my wardrobe: stripes, floral, and leopard. I’ll touch on that a bit more in an upcoming post, so for now, let’s talk about this look.
I purchased this striped blouse from Nordstrom a few months ago with office attire in mind, but I thought it would be a nice challenge to step a little out of my comfort zone and style it for the daytime. If you didn’t know, I am not a fan of boyfriend jeans. I love the look of them on other people, but I just don’t think they’re flattering on my body type. This semi-fitted jean is as close to boyfriend jeans as I’ll get, and even these took a little getting used to. I liked the idea of pairing a baggy pant with heels because it’s a bit of a departure from my usual skinny pants uniform.
That’s what I love about style–even when you have your taste figured out, you can still have fun and experiment with different looks. Overall, I think the pieces paired well together. Is this the beginning of my venture into a baggy jean? No, but I can definitely see myself playing around with different bottoms this year
