Happy Friday!
Today’s post will be a quickie because it’s a 3-day weekend and I’m heading out soon to hit the road.
Do you all dress in patriotic colors for the 4th of July? Although I’m not opposed to flag attire for the day, I’m opting for a minimal look this year. I may not have packed any stars, but I am including a few stripes for my outfit. I’m sticking with the basics because my weekend is going to be chill and laidback. Aside from attending a cookout on the 4th of July, I plan on relaxing and spending some quality time with my family.
My Weekend Travel Outfits
A striped tee is my go-to look for nearly any casual occasion because it’s just as comfortable as a graphic, but it looks more put together. An added bonus it it’s versatile enough to dress up just by swapping out the bottoms if you’re ever in need of a quick outfit switch for the nighttime. All three tops I packed have been featured on the blog in previous outfit posts if you’d like to see how they look when worn:
For the bottoms, I’m packing only denim shorts this weekend now that the weather is hot enough for them. The shorts on the far left are from Topshop, which are the same ones featured in my recent Celfie and Marvel outfit posts. I just love the wash of them because most light denim is too light for my taste, although these are a little on the short side. The two pairs on the right are from Target and they aren’t necessarily new, but I don’t believe I’ve worn them on camera just yet.
As for my travel shoes, they aren’t pictured because I haven’t quite decided on those yet. I’m torn between black gladiators, leopard sandals, or white sneakers. I haven’t had the chance to wear a nice pair of gladiators this year, so why not break them out during the 3-day weekend? Alternately, I’m leaning towards leopard sandals because I’m a big fan of mixing prints, especially when one of the prints is stripes. Lastly, white sneakers are another option of mine because they are extremely casual and fit the mood of the holiday.
So, which shoe will I end up with? Who knows! I’ll most likely snap a quick POV outfit shot on snapchat, so be sure to follow me there if you’d like to see the final outfit.
If any of you are traveling as well, be safe! I hope you all have a fun and happy 4th of July!
