If you follow along on Instagram, you may remember that I went to Austin City Limits Music Festival a little over a week ago. This was my 3rd consecutive year attending, but the first one where I actually went to both weekends. That’s the struggle with music festival lineups — some of the performances can overlap. I went to Day 1 of Weekend 1 with Jonathan (@jonscottfashion) but didn’t snap any pics of my outfit.
I went to all 3 days of Weekend 2 so I luckily got a chance to snap what I wore each day. Jonathan and I went with DeAnna (@_thevisualaspect) and our intern for the weekend, Jose. I will say that although the weekend didn’t end up how we planned, I was able to let my hair down and have a good time while at the festival. I recently read an article about how people love music festivals because for a moment, you’re able to just get lost in the carefree environment and escape reality. I couldn’t agree more!
I hope you find this post helpful for your next music festival! Below are the 3 outfits I wore during the festival, shot on an iPhone due to festival rules:
Day 1 – Floral Off the Shoulder
The highlight performance of Day 1 this year was The XX. They came to Austin earlier in the year but their show sold out so fast, I wasn’t able to get a ticket. I was so happy when the lineup was announced because their album is one of my favorites of the year. I posted a few clips on my personal Instagram account if you’d like to get a glimpse of their show!
Outfit Details: Forever 21 top (similar) | Zara shorts | Sam Edelman sandals | Quay Australia sunglasses
Day 2 – Striped Off the Shoulder
The theme of the festival style this year was “sun’s out, shoulders out” because all of my looks (including Weekend 1) consisted of bare shoulder tops. Day 2 felt a little more bohemian with the longer sleeves, but it was still a surprisingly cool blouse to wear out in the heat.
The musical highlight of Day 2 was Glass Animals. I haven’t posted clips from their performance yet, but it was my 3rd time seeing them live and they didn’t disappoint. I just love the energy of the band (and the crowd) when they perform. I have a feeling they’ll headline the festival one of these years.

Day 3 – Fringe + Flannel
The first two days incorporated a few new items, but the final look for the festival was created purely with items I’ve owned for a long time now. The weather was perfect on the last day! Because the temperature dropped, I saved this look for Day 3 so the flannel could double as a jacket just in case I got cold or it rained.
This was the night The Killers closed out the festival and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the night. I haven’t kept up with their newer music, but it was so nostalgic every time they would sing a song from their Hot Fuss album — check my personal Instagram for a few clips!
Outfit Details: Topshop bandeau (similar) | Topshop flannel (similar) | Urban Outfitters shorts | Steve Madden sandals (similar) | Quay Australia sunglasses
I just want to say thank you so much to my wonderful friends for keeping a smile on my face during the festival weekend! I had such a good time and I can’t wait for our next get together! Also, a huge thank you to my sister for braiding my hair! I absolutely loved having them and wish I could have kept them in longer!
